Hey Concepteez,
We hope you enjoyed the holiday season, and wish you the best for 2014.
Let's kick off 2014 with a contest Environment round
The theme will be "Imaginary worlds".
We decided to kick off the year giving the winner something extra; A 1 month DA subscription, and a $5 cash prize. [via paypal only]
The winner and the contenders may see their work featured in our next Concepteez's issue.
Make sure your work is of a high standard (a4 size) and save wip shots to be qualified.
46th Bi-weekly contest: Environment round Contest –"Imaginary worlds" .
You all have two weeks from now to finish your entry. There is a timer on the front page which counts down this contest so you don't need to ask us about the time zones, just work it out from the timer.
Contest 46
You are allowed to add facts of your own but you must have the basic requirements (Has to be an Environment based piece).
Please add a small description in your entries stating that it is made for this competition so we know its not an old piece.
Also add:
Software used
Time taken
Add a link to wip file if you've managed to grab some screen shots of the process, similar to kuroi-tsuki.deviantart.com/art… and kuroi-tsuki.deviantart.com/art…
You can also add our logo by pasting :iconConceptWorld (add another : to the end) into your description.
Full Rules here fav.me/d69eqq4
You can use any piece of software and the entry can be 2d or 3d concept.
Submit your entry to "Bi-Weekly Challenge". You can only submit one entry so do make it count.
Please make it relevant to the theme otherwise you will be disqualified from the public poll.
The folder will be blocked for submission after the deadline so try and leave some time to submit your work.
To make your work future proof try to make your canvases close to HD resolution (if your computer can cope with it).
If you have a 3D entry you must provide wire frames to prove the fact that it is 3D modelled. You can either link to the wire frames, or you can upload your designs in this format: gdsworld.deviantart.com/art/Je…
Follow the Group submission standards as well as the rules of the contest, Admins will only accept entries from an Intermediate level and higher.
Judging
Admins will be judging your piece based on these contributing factors [A link to a downloadable score sheet will be provided ASAP];
We will mainly be looking for;
Originality
Composition
Presentation
Technique
Functionality
Entries will be sorted by admins and we'll pick the top 10 entries after which Concepteez members can vote for them in the poll
*The admin team has the right to disqualify any entry if it doesn't meet our requirements. Winning the poll will not guarantee you 1st place.
Prizes
Winner of this round will receive A 1 month DA subscription, and a $5 cash prize. [via paypal only]
You will be featured on our main page (a 640x480px image) for a whole week.
The winner will also be featured in our Featured folder, along with all the other glories you get from being a winner it'll be a great learning curve and you'll also receive a mention in the next blog.
You may also be featured in Concepteez's next issue.
Pass the torch: Contest Winners will be given code for a custom box to place on their DA Art page from us, stating which contest they won and the torch itself.
It serves as an icon that symbolizes hard work and achievement. So keep an eye out for it at the end of the year.
The artist with the highest score will become Artist of the year, and will receive many rewards to go with their achievement.
*Use this contest every week to improve your skills and share progression with your peers. You never know when you might get hired.
"There is a clear link between how well an image did on poll to the amount of time spent on it. So lets spend more time for a higher chance of success."
The theme for this competition is: Environment round Imaginary worlds and the DEADLINE is Thursday January 23rd at midnight.
Let's make this a great year for all Concepteez, we want to see your concepts!
Have fun and be creative,

This group is going offline....
Dear Concepteez,
It is with regret I have to say that the group that was born out of nothing and helped us all get to know each other has unfortunately run it's course and we just don't have the resources or the energy to support the running of this group anymore.
This group was really fun, I personally learnt a lot by hanging out with the coolest artists in the world and now the social media has evolved enough to allow us to easily host contest without much of the admin that DA requires. I had a chat with monkeybread (https://www.deviantart.com/monkeybread) and he eluded to this fact, I just wanted to see it for myself.
What is going to happen to the gallery you ask?
Well,
Bi-Weekly Contest Re-Launch!

Friday Feature 18th May 2018
Dear Concepteez,
What constitutes a winning feature?
Is it the ability to solve a problem, or to tell a story using a still frozen frame in time, is it marketing or fundamentals that make us stare at a piece for longer than two seconds?
From looking at the featured images this week it is clear that every artist enhanced the emotional appeal or hooked us in a way that makes us want to explore further and dive deeper into the meaning behind the brush strokes.
This fluffy creature looks so jovial that you'd want to hug it, only problem is that it may also kill you. But heck, life's too short and he looks too happy, let's be friends. Kaboom b

I'm really considering participating in this contest, however, I'm relatively new to digital painting. What about a 3D piece?
